Job Summary

The Infrastructure Operations Administrator is responsible for day-to-day infrastructure administration tasks in the Infrastructure Services group.


The Systems department staff contributes their expertise to a wide range of maintenance, integration, optimization, and problem resolution tasks. The Infrastructure Operations Administrator receives direction from the Infrastructure Services group, Help Desk Coordinator and Head of Systems and works closely with Systems department staff on daily tasks, project assignments and priorities.



  •      Production and Archive storage administration, including permissions, quotas and file system mounts.
  •      Data backup and restoration, including tape library support.
  •      Network switch maintenance.
  •      Server administration and maintenance procedures.
  •      Health checks and reports.
  •      Data center maintenance tasks.
  •      Procedural firewall changes.
  •      Special projects and other duties as required.




  •      Working knowledge of Red Hat or CentOS Linux. Experience with MacOS and Windows is a plus.
  •      NFS network attached storage administration. Experience with Isilon and NetApp is a plus.
  •      Data backup and restoration administration. Experience with Networker and tape libraries is a plus.
  •      Programming languages, including Unix shell scripting, Python, or Go.
  •      Working knowledge of network technologies and services including TCPIP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with Aruba, Brocade, Cisco or Foundry is a plus.
  •      Virtualization technologies, including VM and Docker.
  •      Data center vendor management.


Skills and Abilities

  •      A proven technical aptitude (indicated on resume and supported by technical references) to deliver comprehensive infrastructure support in a production environment.
  •      Strong attention to detail and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects. 
  •      Thorough record keeping and documentation including technical documentation of procedures; documenting code; inventory, project, task, and time tracking.
  •      Ability to relate to and communicate with all levels of employees.
  •      Process oriented, but flexible around business needs.
  •      Serve as a representative of Blue Sky Studios, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, teamwork and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Studio.


  •      College degree in computer science.
  •      2-5 years or the equivalent infrastructure administration experience in a university, business or production environment.


Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands

  •      The Systems department provides 24/7 support for some production critical systems. Flexible working hours are required, including occasional early mornings, late evenings and weekends. 
  •      Some systems maintenance is scheduled for early morning, evening or weekend hours.
  •      Walking, bending, sitting and lifting up to 50lbs is required on a regular basis.
  •      Office working environment.
